Affiliate Link: How Crypto Referral Programs Pay

How a crypto affiliate link works, who it suits and how cascade sub-affiliation pays. An honest look at earning with regulated exchange referrals.

An affiliate link is a personal referral URL that lets people who run a community or publish content earn commissions when they bring new users to a crypto exchange. It is the core of most recruitment-focused affiliate programs, and it is worth understanding honestly before you build a strategy around it.

How an affiliate link actually pays

When someone opens an account and trades through your link, a share of the exchange's fees is credited to you. Many crypto programs also offer cascade sub-affiliation: you recruit other affiliates, and a portion of their referred activity flows back to you too. There is nothing magic here. Earnings depend on real, ongoing activity from the people you refer. No program guarantees income, and a dormant audience pays nothing.

What are the most profitable affiliations?

The best crypto affiliate programs are rarely the ones promising the highest headline rate. They are the ones that send your audience to a platform people actually trust and keep using. In the EU that means a regulated venue. After 1 July 2026, new EEA users can no longer sign up on the global exchange and must use Bybit EU, the European entity licensed under MiCA by Austria's FMA, headquartered in Vienna and passported across 29 EEA countries.

Promote responsibly

  • Promote only regulated spot products, not leveraged derivatives, which are not offered to EU retail users.
  • Be transparent: disclose your link, never promise profits, always add a risk warning.
  • Send users to a clean onboarding path: KYC, SEPA deposit, first BTC or spot purchase.

Crypto is volatile and your audience can lose money; this is information, not financial advice. The most durable affiliate income comes from trust, not hype.
